CRICKET WEEKEND 2014

NACTON CRICKET CLUB 4 DAY CRICKET FESTIVAL

CRICKET WEEKEND 2014

DAY 1 | SATURDAY 23RD AUGUST

Two Counties Cricket Championship - Nacton CC versus Braintree II
Two Counties League match between Nacton and Braintree II. The match started at 1.00pm. Nacton 187-8 Braintree II 143 Nacton won the match and should see Div 5 cricket in 2015.

Curry night raised £110. Many thanks to all who came.

DAY 2 | SUNDAY 24TH AUGUST

Nacton Cricket Club - Fun day and Six aside Tournament
Six aside tournament kicked off at 10.30am (teams participating are Beckingham CC x 2, Playford FC and Nacton CC x2). After many closely contested matches the Nacton CC No. I team retained the six aside trophy for another year.
Music was provided throughout the tournament by DJ LDog and MC Samuel Pilborough (No Sheds). BBQ, bar, cake stall, refreshments, bouncy castle, children's tombola and raffle all helped to raise money for the club. Breakfast provided from 9am 'hosted by the Rush family' was a great start to the day. It was unclear who actually won the end of tournament 'Rounders' match between the Nactonians and Nactonittes (WAGS) but all had a fantastic evening.

DAY 3 | MONDAY 25TH AUGUST

Nacton Cricket Club Inter Club Match
It was with sadness we announced that Mellis Cricket Club had to cancel the scheduled game. You've probably all guessed but the day was officially a washout. No cricket and given how cold and miserable it was at the Stadium, the bar was closed for the day too. It is such a shame the worst weather of the summer appeared on the Bank Holiday Monday. Despite this 4 hardy members arrived and promptly left after the fastest pitch inspection.

DAY 4 | TUESDAY 26TH AUGUST

Nacton Cricket Club Chairman's XI versus Gentlemen of Suffolk XI
gain this year the Nacton CC Chairman Mr Ellis Baker has invited the Gentlemen of Suffolk to the Nacton Stadium for a rematch. Last years game was a great event and hope to repeat this again in 2014. Game started at 1.30pm. A Bar and BBQ was open throughout the match and taken full advantage of.
